Survival craft simulator SRV-2010

The Survival Craft Simulator SRV-2010 trains and demonstrates the competence of:

• seafarers designated to take charge of survival craft and rescue boats in accordance with Table A-VI/2-1 of STCW Code
• seafarers designated to take charge of fast rescue boats in accordance with Table A-VI/2-2 of STCW Code

The Simulator may also be used for training in search and rescue operations.

Target models are controlled from the instructor station. This is done either manually by the instructor, or automatically as programmed into the exercise.

Configuration

The simulator consists of the Instructor workplace (IWP) software and one or several Student workplaces (SWP) which can be presented in base or compact configuration.

Base configuration includes steering stand with built-in steering wheel, sensor control panel and visualization on projection apparatus and LCD panel. Compact configuration includes steering stand and visualization of the area with joystick and mouse steering. It can be easily installed in any computer network.

The Student Workplace can be extended to include the simulators "SCS-2009" Simulator for Training Small Craft Navigators and "SSH-2009" Steering Simulator for helmsman, which can all be managed from one Instructor Workplace.

Instructor workplace (IWP) provides

• choice of exercises containing
  • area of navigation
  • hydrometeorological conditions
  • time of day
  • positioning & trajectory of target vessels
  • overload situations
• adjusting initial exercise parameters
  • changes to navaids
  • changes to wind strength & direction, visibility, precipitation, wave height, time of day
  • adding new target vessels
• model selection & positioning of student ships (active vessels)
• visual control - with the help of virtual cameras it is possible to observe any part of the navigation area
• active management of student vessel. This function may be necessary to demonstrate the proper performance of the exercise
• recording of the exercise for debriefing
• activation of distress signals to the liferaft

Student workplace provides

The simulator is supplied with a set of technical and operational documentation, including training and guidance on practical training.
