    Aquaculture

Sensors and complete systems for monitoring in aquaculture
Aanderaa offers real- time environmental monitoring system for aquaculture. The information is used by aquaculture farms to plan and adjust feeding and thereby avoid feed spillage. By monitoring the conditions our customers operate more efficient and save money on feed.

Aanderaa standard systems monitor current speed, current direction, water temperatures, salinity, turbidity and oxygen inside and outside the cage.

Real-time data to the feeding system is optimizing the feeding process and thereby saves cost as well as save the environment.

The systems have low maintenance cost since the sensors will be stable over very long periods without any recalibration.

Optional sensors may measure, pH chlorophyll, wave, tide as well as other parameters.

Aanderaa do offer instrumentation for the purpose of surveying site locations. With the survey instrumentation an easy to use software package comes that makes report of current profiles, waves, oxygen, salinity and temperatures.

    Coastal Research

Aanderaa's coastal reserach offering includes a variety of shallow water sensors and instruments to be deployed either real-time or autonomous.
In coastal research Aanderaa offers reliable, compact, low power consuming and user-friendly sensors and systems measuring a wide range of parameters at the highest quality. We offer "Smart Sensors" to measure Currents, Oxygen, Conductivity/Salinity/Density, Wave/Tide, Vented Wave/Tide and Pressure. All smart sensors have in-built high quality temperature sensors and deliver absolute readings.

The sensors can be connected directly to a PC or to a third party data logger using serial communication. Sensors can also be "plug-and-play" connected to a sensor network using an Aanderaa developed CAN-bus communication called AiCaP.

SeaGuard II DCP is our multisensor current profiler specially adapted for coastal research. SeaGuard platform is the logger unit for all other parameters. SeaGuard underwater loggers can host more than 20 smart sensor, placed in e.g. up to 300 m long sensor stings, as well as 4 analog sensors (e.g. for Turbidity, Chlorophyll, PAR, Cyanobateria). SmartGuard land and buoy based loggers opens additional possibilities for integration of meteorological and third part sensors.

RCM Blue is an easy to use instrument with Bluetooth communication for set-up and data download and is dedicated to measure currents and optional pressure at the highest quality to an affordable price.

We have modern reliable technology for on-line communication and years of experience in offering real time solutions.

Aanderaa has from the very beginning been known for its capability of supplying complex system solutions – often with a combination of submersible sensors and sensors in air, real time transfer of data via radio, GPRS or satellite and the data displayed on a single screen or via a web server.

The sensor platform may be a submersible data logger, a Current Meter or a Data Buoy on the surface.

The SmartGuard data logger is a versatile data logger that combines data from submersible sensors as well as sensors on land. The logger accepts different data formats from Aanderaa sensors as well as from sensors made by other suppliers.

    FerryBox

Aanderaa SOOGuard provides an on-board solution to shipbourne data collection.
The Aanderaa version of Ferrybox named SOOGuard consists of an automated package of different sensors designed for long-term installation on a ship of opportunity. Measurements of environmental parameters in the surface water along its transect are collected and may be transmitted in near real time.

The system offers easy maintenance and flexibility to collect data from a ship of opportunity. It is based around a 10 bar pressure housing for water flow and measurements. Embedded sensors are connected to our SmartGuard data collection platform for data logging and telemetry.

The standard parameters being measured are:

    Conductivity
    Dissolved Oxygen
    Chlorophyll
    Water flow

GPS data from the ship may be collected by the SmartGuard data logger. Some additional water parameters available from the ship (meteorological data etc.) can also be collected by the data logger. Real-time data transmission is possible depending on the ship's capabilities.

    Optional parameters to measure:

    CDOM
    pH
    Turbidity
    GPS
Different digital and analog sensors from other sensor suppliers
    Other parameters on demand

    Oceanography

Aanderaa products have been used in the oceanographic research markets for more than 50 years.
Aanderaa products have plaid important roles within the oceanographic community since 1966. The Aanderaa Current Meters were from the beginning known for their reliability and were early considered as "the standard" when it came to current measurements.

Over the years the oceanographic product portfolios have undergone an evolution and the range of products have been broadened substantially. Today the oceanographic products are utilizing the newest technology comprising, among others, the most powerful microcontrollers and digital signal processors. Advanced software solutions and powerful processors are utilized in the data loggers, and XML– and modern Bus technology give safe and fast data transfer. Sensors are utilizing the most advanced multi-frequency acoustic technology as well as optical technology.

Aanderaa instruments and sensors are used world-wide within oceanography, by surveyors, within hydrography and by oceanographic – and climate researchers and many others.

The most important product areas are:

    Current meters
    Current Profilers
    Submersible sensors comprising:
    Wave- and tide sensors
    Dissolved Oxygen
    Salinity
    Temperature
    Sensor strings with data loggers
    Ocean Observotories

Aanderaa products have been used for environmental research, oceanographic research, hydrographic monitoring, river and lake research, as well as climate research for many years.

Our Seaguard platform and expanding line-up of smart sensors may be used either as a self-recording instrument, or as a real-time Met-Ocean observing network. This versatility is available without the extra cost associated with a custom solution.

AADI systems for the environmental research communities include Seaguard RCM/CTD, Recording Doppler Current Profiler, automatic weather stations, wave and tide stations and buoy systems. Stand-alone sensors are available for measuring parameters such as conductivity, temperature, pressure, oxygen, wave and tide, currents and water level.

    Oil Spill Recovery
For mechanical oil spill recovery AADI offers a complete real-time system, proving the oil boom speed through water.
The Aanderaa Doppler Log System is a complete real-time system designed to make mechanical oil spill recovery more efficient. The system is monitoring the boom's true speed through water and ensures that the oil boom is operated at the optimal speed. The information is displayed on a screen on the ship's bridge, and the display is made so that the correct information is easily understood by just looking at the screen "at a glance". The system ensures correct build-up of oil in the boom and gives efficient and secure collection of oil.

    Features:

Acoustic Doppler measurement for speed through water
Software to display and store data
    Wireless data communication
    Rugged construction
    Easily installed
Battery powered for 7 days continuous operation

If the oil boom is towed too fast through the water the oil will escape underneath the boom or the oil boom and other recovery equipment may be damaged. Therefore it is vital to know the true speed of the boom through water in order to operate the various oil booms within the manufacturers' specifications.

To operate mechanical recovery systems in low visibility, complete darkness and high wave conditions are a challenge. The Aanderaa oil boom Doppler Log System allow for safe operation.
