Optical By-pass
Is as an option necessary in case the helmsman´s position in the wheelhouse is not right below the compass binnacle. The maximum length of the horizontal by pass can be 6m and that of the total optical arrangement below the binnacle column up to 7m. If the by pass channel is shorter than 2m and the total length less 3.5m choose REFLECTA/1/Fiberline. The by pass channel can be orientated to ahead (drawing below), aft, cross or each direction between. Each by pass has to be individually adjusted to the wheelhouse dimensions. For this ask for the detailed "Questionnaire Optical By pass..." and send it back to Cassens & Plath completed by the yard.

The by-pass comprises:
1 Lead in tube, separrate
1 rectangular PVC channel (width 190 mm, height 160 mm) with removable cover from below and two swivel and tiltable mirrors, one sleeve to guide the lead-in tube on the upside of the channel.
1 reflection tube (as option extendable), fix installed to the by-pass channel, 125mm, with turnable mirror head, in it one each day and night mirror with adjustable frame.

By-pass from above
Binnacle base and four possible orientations of the by-pass can point to ahead, aft cross or each direction between. The heading figures will be upright as required in case the helmsman looks in ahead direction.
