The Admiralty Star Finder and Identifier consists of star charts for the northern and southern hemisphere together with 8 transparent templates for latitudes 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 75 degrees. The chart shows 57 stars tabulated in The Nautical Almanac (NP314). To use, first find the LHA of Aries, select the temlate nearest your latitude, then align the arrow on the template with the LHA of Aries. From the template read off the approximate altitude and azimuth of any of the 57 NA stars, or alternatively identify a Nautical Almanac star given the altitude and azimuth.
